The company Willemsen de Koning is a taxi company that proves that taxi transport is more than a journey from A to B. They specialise in ‘transport with care’ for children that need special attention, elderly people and people with disabilities. They have requested 999 games to develop a game for them that they could provide to their clients and personnel
I have designed the game from scratch. They have specifically requested a game that looks like ‘CATAN’, but has the feeling of ‘Ticket to ride’. I started with the hexagon tiles but this time the tiles have routes on them where the taxi van will ride.
Game concept: WDK-game. Players use cards to move their vans in order to pick up children and drop them at school. The first to do so might win, however, some children have autism and need to be picked up in the right order. If you don’t respect that you will be penalised. Will you go for speed, or for ‘transport with care’. Action cards will help you put the children in contact with their parents, move around roadblocks, find a shortcut or put other players in a traffic jam.
